Taking IDX search to the next level in push technology

When it comes to search technology today, it reminds me of the Rolling Stones’ lyrics, “You can’t always get what you want.”

Now, I appreciate the wonders of search engines such as Google and Bing as much as anybody.

But, it’s been a few years now and frankly, it could be better.

For example, say you are searching for something and you can’t find it. Wouldn’t it be great if you could put in an “order” for that item to be delivered to you later on?

Perhaps I’m looking for a pair of ostrich cowboy boots, size 10, for under $100 (don’t ask me why, mid-life crisis maybe). After an hour digging on the web, in frustration I give up. Can’t find any.

It would be so cool to have a service that kept looking for those cowboy boots for me, and continually sent me emails with possible matches for my request.

Possibly, that service already exists. But I don’t know about it.

But this service does exist for real estate IDX search.

It’s offered by SpatialMatch, developers of an IDX search platform combined with a lifestyle database containing billions of bits of hyperlocal data covering businesses, schools, facilities and other amenities.

Think of the incredible value proposition you can promote on your site.

You will have a site that not only helps a buyer find a home, it will also help them find a home near the things they like to do, say golf or jog AND it will now provide them with updates on new properties that come onto the market that fit their requirements.

If you remember this term from earlier days of the web, this is “push” technology. Rather than you seeking information, it’s sent to you.

SpatialMatch has refined that approach with this latest feature.

Here’s an example of what a buyer would receive if they signed up for alerts:

The following email message was sent to Potential Home Buyer on your behalf.

There is an incredible tool for keeping in touch with your prospect automatically. And it’s an incredible tool to show sellers how you are able to use the latest and greatest technology to keep in front of home buyers.

“Our goal is to continually take real estate search to the next level,” said John Perkins, CEO of Home Junction, Inc. which developed SpatialMatch. “General search engines are too convoluted and overwhelmed to provide this type of information. But with SpatialMatch, we can send home buyers the relevant information in a clean, easy format that meets their needs.”

You know, I can live without the cowboy boots.

But when my wife and I are looking for a home, I want a Realtor who is going to deliver to me all the information (property description, neighborhood amenities, schools, etc.)  I need in precisely the right format. That I can access quickly on my laptop or my smartphone.

Now that’s the next generation IDX. The next generation real estate search.
